A 47-year-old Colorado Springs snowboarder died at Breckenridge Resort on Tuesday following a “serious incident” on the mountain, according to resort officials.
The man was taken to the resort’s Peak 8 first aid room after ski patrol responded to a “snowboarder incident” on an intermediate trail on Peak 7, Breckenridge officials said in a statement Thursday.
The man was pronounced dead after receiving emergency care and evaluation at the first aid room.
The resort did not provide further information about the incident, but Summit County Sheriff Jaime FitzSimons told the Summit Daily the man died after crashing into a tree.
In a separate incident on Tuesday, a father and daughter skiing at Keystone Resort were injured in a hit-and-run crash with a ski biker.
